Urban Grace invites you to join us for a brief Congregational Meeting on Sunday, January 25, immediately following our 10:30 AM worship service.
This gathering is an opportunity to practice shared leadership, stay connected as a community, and take part in an important next step in the life of our church.
Whether you’ve been part of Urban Grace for years, you’re newer to the community, or you’re just beginning to find your way here, you are welcome and your presence matters.
What We’ll Be Gathering For
At this congregational meeting, the Nominating Committee will present Teresa Robinson-Duane as a nominee for the Church Council. The congregation will vote on this nomination during the meeting.
This vote is taking place as part of a leadership transition within Council. After serving faithfully for the past two and a half years, Abbie Brown has stepped down from her role as Council co-moderator. We are deeply grateful for the creativity, care, and leadership Abbie brought to this work.
Current Council member Emilie Buter has graciously stepped into the co-moderator role alongside Pastor Jonathan, and the Council is now seeking to fill an open seat in order to remain within the leadership range outlined in our church constitution.
Why This Meeting Matters
Congregational meetings are a core expression of who we are at Urban Grace, a community-rooted, ecumenical church committed to shared decision-making, transparency, and collective care.
This brief gathering allows us to:
Participate directly in the leadership of our church
Support continuity and stability during a season of transition
Affirm the voices and gifts within our community
We need to reach quorum in order to conduct this vote, so your participation truly makes a difference.
