DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Meal Service \nSharing a meal is a simple but powerful way to care for our neighbors. By helping serve meals\, we offer not only nourishment but also dignity\, hospitality\, and connection to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Volunteers will assist with meal preparation\, serving\, and clean-up while creating a welcoming environment for guests. \nWe’ve committed to serving at two locations: \n\nMonday\, May 25 (4–7pm): 7 volunteers needed at the downtown campus (425 S. Tacoma Way)\nSaturday\, May 30 (3:30–6pm): 5 volunteers needed at the family campus (3202 S. Tyler)\n\nVolunteers ages 8+ are welcome (ages 8–13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian). DESCRIPTION:We will join La Resistencia and Tsuru for Solidarity on Saturday\, February 21 from 1-3pm to join in their Day of Solidarity at NWDC (1623 E J St.). Survivors of the Japanese American WWII incarceration will speak about parallels between their lived experiences and the current victims of mass immigration detention. Also includes an update from La Resistencia on the latest conditions inside NWDC\, taiko drumming to make noise for those detained inside\, and a poetry reading from @troyosaki. \nIf you are driving to the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC)\, please park on EF St facing E 15th St. This allows for quick evacuation in case of an emergency. To support visiting families whose loved ones are detained inside of NWDC\, we kindly ask that people don’t park on EJ St unless they have mobility limitations. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

After serving faithfully for the past two and a half years\, Abbie Brown has stepped down from her role as Council co-moderator. Rather than lectures or presentations\, each workshop creates room for reflection\, dialogue\, and shared curiosity. You don’t need to prepare anything ahead of time\, and you don’t need to have the “right” answers.
